A man has been charged with murder following the stabbing deaths of a woman and baby in Logan.
Kate Paterson, 37, and her 11-month-old daughter April were found dead in the family’s Belivah home on March 12.
Police made the grim find shortly after they were called to reports of a man being hit by a car on nearby Beaudesert Beenleigh Road at Bannockburn around 7.30am.
“It will be alleged the man attended the location after leaving the nearby Belivah address,” Queensland Police said.
The 38-year-old man was taken to hospital in a serious condition under police guard.
He has since been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence offence) and murder (domestic violence offence against a child).
The man continues to receive medical treatment in hospital and is due to appear via video link at Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Investigations remain ongoing.
