A crime scene has been declared at a home on the northern Gold Coast following a ferocious fire.
The blaze erupted at a property along Gunther Avenue in Coomera around 8.50pm on Monday, with fire crews finding the home engulfed in flames upon arrival.
The male resident managed to escape just in time, with firefighters also managing to rescue a pet dog from the backyard.
It’s understood the inferno started in the garage before spreading to the rest of the property, causing significant damage.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze, with investigations ongoing.
