A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Mermaid Waters.
The 70-year-old was crossing Markeri Street at the intersection with Rio Vista Boulevard around 5pm Tuesday when he was struck by a Subaru Liberty.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics for critical head injuries before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The 40-year-old male driver of the vehicle and his 34-year-old female passenger were not injured in the incident.
Police have confirmed the Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
They’re appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam to the come forward.
