A driver is in a potentially life-threatening condition following a horror crash on the southern Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency services were called to Golden Four Drive and Short Street at Bilinga around 2am following reports of a serious crash.
Upon arrival, they found a 2012 Ford F150 had come off the road and collided with trees.
The driver, a man aged in his 70s, suffered significant head injuries.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
