A three-car pile-up on the northern Gold Coast has led to the arrest of two drivers.

Emergency crews were called to the Yawalpah Road on-ramp in Pimpama around 10pm on Wednesday following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, two of the drivers allegedly blew over the alcohol limit, with the pair detained by police for further testing.

A 27-year-old Ormeau Hills man has since been issued with a notice to appear for drink driving.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on 17 September.

Police confirmed a 51-year-old Upper Coomera man was also issued a notice to appear for drink driving.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on 4 September.

A teenage boy suffered neck injuries in the collision and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
