Optus has confirmed some calls to Triple Zero may have been impacted following another widespread outage, this time across parts of Queensland.

The telco said it is working to fix an issue impacting NBN services “across Brisbane and certain parts of Queensland” which has been impacting around 95,000 customers since the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“Calls to Triple Zero and emergency services via the Optus mobile network were not impacted. Voice over Internet phone calls via a customer’s nbn broadband connection may have been affected if the customer has an older modem without 4G or 5G backup,” Optus said in a statement.

The telco said the outage was the result of a network server failure at our Rochedale Exchange, which it is slowly restoring.

“Our technicians remain on site and are working as quickly as possible to fully restore connectivity for all Optus nbn customers,” Optus said in a statement.

“Advice to customers is to power cycle their modem.

“We sincerely apologise for the disruption and thank customers for their patience.”
