Police are appealing for information following an alleged violent and brutal assault on a motorist at Pacific Pines.
Initial investigations suggest a bronze Nissan Navara was travelling east along Binstead Way towards the motorway intersection around 2.40pm on Tuesday when the driver pulled over shortly after the roundabout to inspect his vehicle.
During that time, a man wearing a white puffer jacket and riding an e-scooter allegedly pulled the driver out of his vehicle and assaulted him.
The driver, a 68-year-old Wongawallan man, was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with cuts and bruising to his head.
The rider of the e-scooter left the scene, with police now appealing for him to come forward.
Investigators are also appealing for anyone in the area at the time of the incident, who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward as investigations continue.
