Police are appealing for public help to identify a woman found dead on a Gold Coast beach.
The body was discovered by walkers at the water’s edge near Palm Beach Surf Club at around 5.40am on Sunday morning.
The woman, believed to be in her 70s, was found fully clothed.
Police are not currently treating the woman’s death as suspicious and believe she may have suffered a medical episode.
The woman is described as Caucasian, approximately 160-165cm in height with short grey hair.
She was wearing black tights, a dark-coloured t-shirt, a brown woollen jumper, and a brown-coloured puffer jacket.
Police say they have had no missing persons reports at this point in time.
“What we’ll be doing today is canvassing CCTV in the area to try and get some further details of the movement of this person,” Superintendent Brett Jackson told the ABC.
“It’s definitely our aim to find out who she is and make sure family are aware.”
Police are not currently treating the woman’s death as suspicious.
“There’s no suspicious markings or injuries of note. In fact, we believe it’s likely a medical condition that’s the causation.
“That’ll be uncovered more as an autopsy is done later today or tomorrow.”
The discovery of the woman’s body came just 24 hours after the body of a man was found at Tallebdugera Creek.
The man was found on the water’s edge at Echo Beach on Saturday morning.
His death is not being treated as suspicious, with the man believed to have suffered a medical episode.
The man’s family has been notified.
