LATEST @ 9.45AM | Three men have been injured, including one significantly, in a massive crash on the M1 that’s brought traffic to a standstill.
A truck and two cars collided southbound at Pimpama at around 8.30am.
Firefighters have had to use the jaws of life to free two of the men involved.
A man in his 20s has suffered significant leg injuries and has been rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
A male in his 30s and a man in his 50s have also been hospitalised suffering various neck and back.
One man was in each of the vehicles that crashed.
The smash caused lanes of the highway to close, with two lanes now beginning to re-open to allow more traffic through.
Significant delays are currently back to Loganholme at the time of writing.
The Forensic Crash Unit is set to launch an investigation.
EARLIER @ 8.55AM | Emergency crews are responding to a serious crash on the M1 that’s causing heavy congestion for the morning commute.
Two cars collided southbound at Pimpama around 8.30am, with one person reportedly trapped in the wreck.
There’s also reports one of the vehicles is on fire.
Only one lane is currently open to traffic, with motorists advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
Firefighters, paramedics and police are all on scene.
