A teenage boy has been busted red-handed allegedly trying to rob a chemist in Robina in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to the pharmacy on Cheltenham Drive around 3.45am, following reports two people had broken into the business by smashing the front glass window.

Police attended and arrested a 17-year-old boy, however the second person fled the scene on foot and remains on the run.

A stolen white Lexus that had been parked out the front of the business was seized by officers.

“A subsequent search of the vehicle located stolen property from the chemist inside,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said.

Investigations are ongoing.
