A teenage boy is in custody after allegedly carjacking a woman in Ipswich before being tracked all the way to the Gold Coast.
Police allege the teen confronted a woman at a shopping centre on South Station Rd in Booval around 10am on Thursday.
The boy has then allegedly stolen a white Mazda and fled the scene.
The woman suffered minor injuries during the incident.
The Mazda was spotted by Police in the Ipswich area around 11.40am before officers tracked it for a short time.
The vehicle continued travelling around the Ipswich and Logan areas before being tracked to the northern Gold Coast.
Officers deployed tyre spikes at Paradise Point before the vehicle came to a stop on Oxley Drive a short time later.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene.
He is being questioned by Police with charges still to be laid.
