Two people have been arrested after allegedly leading police on a wild stolen car chase across the Gold Coast.

Police spotted the stolen white Mitsubishi Lancer travelling along Old Burleigh Road at Broadbeach just before 10am on Tuesday.

Officers tracked the vehicle eastbound, where a 16-year-old boy jumped out of the car and fled on foot before being arrested a short time later.

The stolen vehicle continued to evade police, travelling through multiple suburbs in a “dangerous manner”, before officers successfully deployed tyre spikes on Nerang Broadbeach Road at Nerang around 10.30am.

Despite being spiked, the Mitsubishi continued south on the M1 before eventually coming to a stop behind a concrete barrier on the off-ramp near Nielsens Road, where the 21-year-old female driver was arrested.

Both the woman and teen boy are continuing to assist police with investigations.
