Two teenagers have been charged following a widespread crime spree involving car thefts and property offences in Brisbane’s south.

Police allege the teens committed multiple offences throughout at least nine streets in Stretton, Calamvale, Forest Lake and Parkinson between 28 to 30 March.

The boys were located on Awoonga Street in Marsden around 2.30pm on April 2, after being tracked by POLAIR and the Logan and Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad.

A 17-year-old Crestmead boy allegedly attempted to flee but landed on a cactus after jumping over a nearby fence into a backyard.

He sustained minor injuries from the cactus spines.

It will be further alleged during the foot chase, the teen dropped a bag containing 10 vehicle keys and a small quantity of cannabis.

He’s been charged with 11 counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), possessing dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property and wilful damage.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 11 May.

A second teenage boy also attempted to flee by running into a nearby property but was arrested shortly afterwards by police with the assistance of the property’s occupant.

The 16-year-old Crestmead boy has since been charged with 11 counts of attempted enter dwelling and commit and one count each of enter dwelling and commit and UUMV.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court on 20 April.
