LATEST @ 11.45 AM | There’s been a lucky escape after a tram collided with a car in Southport this morning.
It happened at the busy intersection of High and Nerang Streets around 11am, leaving the tram stuck in the middle of the road for about half an hour.
It has since been cleared, with services resuming as normal.
Thankfully no one was injured.
EARLIER @ 11.15 AM | A tram has come to a standstill in the middle of a busy Gold Coast road after colliding with a car.
It happened at the intersection of High Street and Nerang Street in Southport around 11.00am.
Emergency crews are on their way to the scene, however it’s not known at this stage whether anyone has been injured.
Translink is also yet to confirm whether any tram services have been impacted.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area, with delays expected.
