Investigations will continue today into a fatal motorbike crash on the Gold Coast that claimed the life of a woman.
According to police, a group of motorcyclists were riding together on Ashmore Road in Bundall around 8.15pm on Friday when three of the motorbikes collided.
One of the riders, 38-year-old Nadia Shevtsova, died at the scene.
A 20-year-old man who was riding one of the other bikes was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
While the third rider, a 50-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The husband of the woman killed in the crash has since taken to social media to express his heartbreak and thank those who rushed to his wife’s aid.
“My name is Vitalii, and I am the husband of Nadia, who tragically lost her life today in a motorcycle accident on the Gold Coast,” Mr Brokhof said.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who was there in her final moments – the emergency services, first responders, and the people who stopped to help.
“Thank you for your care, your actions, and your humanity. It means more than I can ever put into words. Nadia was the love of my life.
“She was full of light, strength, and kindness. Her last ride was something she loved — and I am grateful to everyone who tried to help her come home.”
