Four teenagers have been charged after leading police on a stolen car chase in the heart of the Gold Coast’s tourism hotspot.

Just before 8pm on Wednesday night, officers spotted a stolen white 2022 Mazda 3 hatchback travelling along Hamilton Avenue in Surfers Paradise.

PolAir was called in to track the vehicle before tyre spikes were successfully deployed on Ferny Avenue around 8.50pm.

Those inside ditched the car and ran off on foot but were tracked down by police nearby shortly after.

A 17-year-old Marsden boy has been charged with three counts of fraud and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted enter dwelling and evasion.

He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Children’s Court today.

A 15-year-old Marsden girl has been charged with three counts of fraud, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of attempted enter dwelling.

A 17-year-old Ripley girl was charged with two counts of unlicenced driving and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted enter dwelling, evasion and fraud.

A 16-year-old Nerang boy was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Those three will appear in the Southport Children’s Court on April 8.

It’s understood the vehicle was stolen from a unit complex’s carpark at Station Road, Woodridge, sometime between 3am and 10am on March 28.
