Five teenagers have been arrested over a string of violent break-and-enter offences across southeast Queensland and the Tweed, including a frightening robbery at Robina.
It is alleged that the group stole a white Jeep Grand Cherokee during a robbery at an address on Banzai St in Kingscliff sometime between 10pm on Sunday night and 2am on Monday.
Around 5.15am on Monday, thieves forced their way into a home in Rochedale, threatening a female resident with a knife.
CCTV footage of the incident reveals audio of one of the gang members yelling, “get the gun” and “shoot her, shoot her.”
However, it’s not known whether any of the thieves actually had a firearm.
The resident suffered a hand injury after the gang snatched a mobile phone from her before fleeing in a white SUV.
A home in Calamvale was targeted just before 10.30am on Monday where four people forced their way inside, stealing a white Mercedes-Benz.
A female resident was injured while trying to stop the vehicle from being stolen.
Around 2.40am on Tuesday, a group is alleged to have turned up at a home on Redbud Lane in Robina in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee before forcing entry into the home.
They attempted to steal the residents’ white Mercedes-Benz but were disturbed by the owners, crashing the vehicle while trying to escape.
The owner was allegedly assaulted during the incident, suffering minor injuries.
The group then fled in the Jeep.
Police, including officers from the Dog Squad arrested five teenagers aged between 16 and 19 across South Brisbane and the Gold Coast on Wednesday.
Charges were expected to be laid overnight while investigations are continuing into whether the group is responsible for other crimes across the southeast.
