Knife‑wielding thieves on the run after Gold Coast BWS hold-up

A manhunt is underway for a pair of thieves who targeted a bottle shop on the northern Gold Coast.

The brazen duo stormed the BWS on Sir John Overall Drive at Helensvale around 8pm on Wednesday before threatening a 57-year-old male worker with a knife.

Police say the pair stole a stash of alcohol from the store before fleeing on foot towards the M1.

Officers arrived a short time later and conducted patrols of the area but were unable to track down the offenders.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with relevant information or CCTV/dashcam vision of the area to come forward.
