A girls trip to Mount Tamborine has landed a woman with a court date after she was allegedly busted driving more than six times the legal alcohol limit.

Police were called to Main Street around 8.30am on Sunday after the woman allegedly hit a telegraph pole in her Mazda CX-8 and continued driving before being stopped by locals.

Upon arrival, police subjected the 50-year-old woman to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

The woman was arrested and taken back to North Tamborine Police Station where she allegedly recorded a breath alcohol concentration of 0.303.

The Mudgeeraba woman was issued with an immediate licence suspension and charged with one count of drive under the influence of liquor.

She is due to appear in Beaudesert Magistrates Court on 3 February.
