A manhunt is underway across the Gold Coast following a brazen daylight assault on a popular Gold Coast walking track.
Police rushed to Burleigh Heads National Park around 3.30pm on Sunday following reports a man had assaulted a woman.
The alleged attacker fled the scene on foot before emergency crews arrived, sparking a major search involving the police chopper.
Despite their efforts, the man could not be found and remains on the run this morning.
“The man is described as having a dark complexion, short hair, wearing a dark green single and dark colours pants,” Queensland Police said.
Thankfully the woman managed to escape with no serious physical injuries.
Anyone with information that could assist police is being urged to come forward.
