Young boy suffers serious burns after falling into Gold Coast firepit

A young boy has been hospitalised after falling into a fire pit at a home on the southern Gold Coast.

Emergency crews were called to a private residence in Tallebudgera just before 4pm on Saturday following reports of the accident.

Upon arrival, they found a primary school aged child suffering significant burns.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.

Queensland Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
