Australia Post and StarTrack are kicking off a massive recruitment drive, searching for more than 3,500 seasonal team members across the country in the lead up to Christmas.

With the holiday shopping season fast approaching, the postal giant is ramping up its network to handle what is its busiest time of the year.

Among the most in-demand positions are truck drivers and forklift operators, with roles also available for van drivers, parcel sorters, and freight handlers.

Applications are officially open, with truck driving positions set to hit the road in early September, while processing, sorting, and driving roles will roll out starting in mid-October.

Executive General Manager of People and Culture, Sue Davies, said the temporary roles are vital to matching last year’s milestone, when the network delivered a record 111 million parcels leading up to Christmas.

“As we prepare for another busy peak period, we’re looking for people with a valid truck or forklift licence, as well as team members for our parcel processing facilities, where no previous experience is needed,” Ms Davies said.

“Seasonal roles are a great way to earn extra income ahead of Christmas while working alongside a welcoming and supportive team.

“Whether you’re behind the wheel, operating a forklift or helping sort parcels, every person plays a part in helping us deliver for customers and communities right across Australia.

“Many of our team members first joined Australia Post during this period and have gone on to build rewarding long-term careers with us”.
