Newsagents across the country are bracing for a busy day, with a whopping $150 million up for grabs in tonight’s potentially record-breaking Powerball draw.

The life-changing prize is the third biggest jackpot ever offered in Lotto history, with thousands of entries per minute expected to be snapped up.

Tonight’s draw also gives one lucky Aussie the chance to become Australia’s biggest-ever individual lotto winner.

“We expect up to half of Australian adults to have an entry into the $150 million Powerball draw with many Aussies hoping to tick some amazing aspirations off their bucket list,” The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said.

“If one person takes home the entire $150 million Powerball prize, they’ll not only expect a hefty boost to their bank account, but they’ll instantly become Australia’s biggest individual lottery winner.”

An inner-Sydney mum in her 40s currently holds the title after scoring an eye-watering $107 million in 2019.

“Despite becoming a newly minted millionaire, she continues to clean and cook for her family but was happy to ‘never pick up a single iron ever again’” Ms Hobdell said.

Those hoping to become the country’s newest multi-millionaire are being urged to register their entries to a player card or online account so they can be contacted immediately after the draw should they score the massive division one prize.

“If you hear your phone ringing late on Thursday night, pick it up as it could be me with some life-changing news!” Ms Hobdell said.
