A 19-year-old man has been charged following investigations into an e-scooter and bicycle crash in Brisbane.

An e-scooter was travelling inbound along Kingsford Smith Drive at Cameron Rocks Reserve around 3.30pm on May 7 when it entered the Lores Bonney Riverwalk and collided with a bike travelling in the opposite direction.

Police say the rider of the e-scooter remained at the scene for a short time but allegedly left before emergency services arrived.

The Forensic Crash Unit launched an investigation into the incident and have now charged the rider of the scooter, a 19-year-old Zillmere man, with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and failing to comply with duties of rider involved in an injury crash.

He’s been issued with a notice to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 24.
