Aerosmith and Yungblud have teamed up for an acoustic re-work of their latest track My Only Angel, roping in none other than comedy legend Steve Martin on the banjo.
Dubbed the ‘Desert Road Version’, the track trades in the rock swagger of the original for something a little more dusty and sun-bleached – stripped-back vocals, warm acoustic tones, and Martin’s unmistakable twang on the strings.
The Only Murders in the Building star announced the surprise collab on Facebook last week, clearly thrilled:
‘I’m playing banjo on a Steven Tyler song! Here’s our text exchange for no particular reason.’

A screenshot of Steve Martin’s messages with Tyler: from arranging to sending over the song, to a follow-up thank you text once Martin had laid down his banjo part.
While Martin doesn’t appear in the video itself, his contribution was recorded remotely and later added to the final mix – proof that even across genres (and generations), good music finds a way.

The full EP lands November 21, with My Only Angel leading the charge – Aerosmith’s first original release in more than a decade.
