A child has died in a ferocious house fire in Toowoomba, which has left a woman and two other kids fighting for life.
Emergency services were called to a home on Merritt Street in Harristown around 12.30am on Wednesday following reports a property was on fire.
Upon arrival, they found the house fully engulfed in flames before fire crews were able to bring it under control.
Six people were able to escape the property, including a 34-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and four children.
The woman and two children have been rushed to Toowoomba Hospital with critical injuries, while the man was also transported with serious injuries.
Sadly, authorities confirmed a short time ago that a fifth child had died after being reported missing in the inferno.
A crime scene has been declared at the home, with investigations into the cause of the fire now underway.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have information or relevant vision to come forward.
