Two women have been charged after Police intercepted two allegedly stolen cars in Nerang.

Police were alerted to a stolen grey Mercedes-Benz c300 that was spotted on Frank St in Labrador at around 12.15pm on Wednesday.

The vehicle had been stolen from Seaworld Drive in Main Beach on Tuesday night.

Officers monitored the Mercedes before it stopped at a business on Gateway Drive in Biggera.

A female passenger entered the store and collected a Harley-Davidson that had been booked in for tyre repairs.

That motorbike had been reported stolen from Muriel Henchman Drive in Main Beach on Tuesday afternoon.

Both the Mercedes and Harley-Davidson were then tracked along the southbound lanes of the M1 at Nerang before tyre spikes were deployed on Nerang-Broadbeach Rd.

The Mercedes came to a stop a short time later on Paradise St in Nerang, where the 19-year-old female driver was arrested.

A 40-year-old woman, alleged to have been riding the motorbike, was also arrested at the same address, with Police alleging the Harley had been sprayed silver to conceal its identity.

The 19-year-old Coomera woman has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, driving of motor vehicle without a drivers licence, fraud, and failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.

The 40-year-old Coomera woman has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, unlawful use of motor vehicles – use damaged or threatened to damage property, driving of motor vehicle without a drivers licence and receiving tainted property.

Both women were due to front Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday.
