Federal Gold Coast MP Cameron Caldwell has been given a promotion after just over two years in parliament.
The Member for Fadden has been handed the roles of Assistant Minister for Housing and Assistant Minister for Mental Health.
He will also continue as the Opposition Whip.
Mr Caldwell said he was “honoured” to have been promoted to the roles and has thanked Opposition Leader Sussan Ley for her confidence in him.
The promotion comes after Ley was forced to reshuffle the shadow ministry following the resignation of West Australian MP Andrew Hastie.
Shadow Education Minister and Tasmanian Senator Jonathon Duniam will take over Hastie’s Shadow Home Affairs role.
Sydney MP and Shadow Attorney-General Julian Leeser will replace Senator Duniam as Shadow Education Minister, while Queensland MP Andrew Wallace become Shadow Attorney-General.
