The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a horror crash in Logan over the weekend that has left three people dead.

Initial investigations suggest around 4.30pm on Saturday, a white Toyota Hilux utility collided with a white Volkswagen station wagon on Waterford Tamborine Road at Yarrabiliba.

The Toyota Hilux caught fire following the crash, with the driver and sole occupant, an 18-year-old man, dying at the scene.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 65-year-old man, and one of the passengers, a 33-year-old woman, also died.

A 65-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, travelling in the Volkswagen were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries.

A 2-year-old girl, also travelling in the Volkswagen, was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Anyone who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the crash and may have relevant vision or information is urged to contact police.
