An 18-year-old man has died after falling from a hotel balcony while trying to run from police in Brisbane.
Police said officers were called to Spring Hill around 5.50pm on Saturday following reports a person wanted in relation to a series of property crimes was at a hotel on Wickham Terrace.
Upon arrival, police located the young man on the sixth floor of the building.
Police say he attempted to flee via a balcony to a lower level but fell and sustained critical injuries.
Officers provided CPR but the man could not be revived and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The State Coroner has now been advised, and police have confirmed the Ethical Standards Command is investigating.
The investigation is subject to independent oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
