A manhunt is underway after several people were held at knifepoint in terrifying carjackings across Logan.
A man approached a 19-year-old woman at a service station on Chambers Flat Road, Park Ridge around 8pm Tuesday night before threatening her with a knife and demanding the keys to her Mazda.
The woman ran into the servo and wasn’t injured.
He then approached a silver Ford Falcon, and threatened a 44-year-old man with the knife and demanded he get out of his vehicle.
The man complied, with the unknown offender fleeing towards Marsden in the stolen Ford.
About 20 minutes later, the Ford was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Chambers Flat Road, Marsden.
Police say nobody was seriously injured as a result of the traffic crash, and the knife-wielding man abandoned the Ford and took off on foot.
He then approached a 33-year-old man sitting in a grey Nissan X-Trail at a nearby shopping centre carpark about 5 minutes later.
The innocent motorist was threatened with a knife and assaulted, before having his Nissan stolen.
He was taken to Logan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The unknown offender remains on the run.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant information to contact police.
Investigations are ongoing.
