Two teens have been charged over a wild stolen car chase across the Gold Coast.
It all unfolded around 6.40pm on Friday, when police spotted a stolen grey Audi Q5 driving dangerously throughout the city.
Two police vehicles were damaged after the Audi attempted to evade police at Oxenford, before officers finally managed to bring the vehicle to a stop with tyre spikes in Labrador.
The pair fled the scene, but specialist police took an 18-year-old man into custody a short time later at a nearby residential address.
While a 16-year-old girl was also arrested at Hollywell a short time after.
The 18-year-old is due to appear in Southport Court today on a string of charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving of motor vehicle without a driver’s licence, and damaging an emergency vehicle.
He’s also been charged with endangering police officer when driving a motor vehicle, serious assault police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs as well as two counts of attempted unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indictable offence.
The 16-year-old Burleigh Heads girl has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and is due to appear in Southport Childrens Court today.
Police confirmed the Audi was stolen from a home in Biggera Waters on August 12.
