The five Sydney Swans players stood down by their club for breaching team standards have broken their silence, issuing a joint apology.

Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, and James Jordon released a statement expressing “deep remorse” to everyone impacted by their actions.

The players acknowledged they let down their families, teammates, club members, corporate partners, and the broader community.

“We are deeply sorry to everyone involved. We know that our behaviour has fallen well short of the standards expected of us and the values of our Club,” the group said in the joint statement.

“We know we have let down our partners and families, members, supporters, teammates, the AFLW team, corporate partners and everyone at the Club and the wider community.

They confirmed they fully accept the club sanctions handed down and stated their immediate focus is on rebuilding trust.

“We accept the Club sanction and apologise for the impact this has had on those involved,” the statement continued.
