Disney+ has officially announced its newest Original comedy series, Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, set to premiere on Tuesday, 30 September. The first two episodes will debut exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes streaming weekly on Tuesdays.
The show follows Russ Holliday, a former college football quarterback whose career fell apart after a devastating mistake eight years ago. Determined to pursue his dreams once again, Russ adopts the quirky persona of Chad Powers, a walk-on player for the struggling South Georgia Catfish football team. This inspiring and comedic series showcases his journey to redemption, making it a must-watch for sports fans and comedy lovers alike.
Chad Powers is created and executive produced by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron. The star-studded production team also includes NFL legends Eli and Peyton Manning, alongside Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown of Omaha Productions. The series is further supported by ESPN executives Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, and Kati Fernandez, with Adam Fasullo and Luvh Rakhe joining as producers. Tony Yacenda directs and serves as executive producer, while Powell takes on multiple roles as co-creator, co-writer, and executive producer under his Barnstorm Productions banner.
The talented cast features Glen Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers, Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson.
