UPDATE @ March 11 | A man has finally surrendered following an hours-long stand-off that shut down a street in Burleigh overnight.
Police were called to Deodar Drive around 6.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a man making threats.
The man barricaded himself inside a home, sparking a major emergency response.
Specialist police, firefighters and paramedics swarmed the area for over three hours before the man eventually gave in.
He was then taken to hospital under police guard.
Police have confirmed it is being treated as a mental health incident.
EARLIER @ March 10 | A police incident is unfolding on a Gold Coast street this evening after a man barricaded himself inside a home.
Emergency crews were called to Deodar Drive in Burleigh Heads around 6.30pm on Tuesday following reports of a man making threats.
The man has since holed himself up inside a property, with tactical response police, fire crews and paramedics all on scene.
