Council has confirmed an investigation is underway after a child was injured in a nasty incident at a popular Gold Coast playground.
The young girl was riding on the pedal-powered monorail at the Broadwater Parklands on Tuesday afternoon when her leg reportedly got caught.
The youngster had to be freed by authorities before she was treated at the scene by paramedics.
She was thankfully taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Councillor Brooke Patterson has since confirmed council officers are looking into it.
“Please know I am aware of the playground accident that occurred earlier today,” she said.
“Our thoughts are with the child and their family at this time.
“Officers have been onsite this afternoon and as a precaution have removed carriages of the monorail for inspection while an investigation takes place”.
