Driver injured after car smashes into tree on M1 off-ramp

A vehicle has lost control while coming off the M1 this morning.

The car swerved up an embankment before smashing into a tree on the Smith Street off-ramp at Gaven at around 5.45am.

Emergency Crews rushed to the scene with paramedics treating one person.

The driver managed to avoid serious injury and has been taken to the Gold Coast Hospital in a stable condition.

QAS weren’t able to provide a gender or age for the patient.

Traffic has not been impacted.
