Investigations are underway into a nasty crash on the northern Gold Coast.
A Toyota Prado was travelling along Access Avenue in Yatala at around 10pm last night when it swerved off the road before crashing down an embankment and into a storm water drain.
Firefighters were forced to smash through the windscreen to help get the driver out to safety.
The man in his 60s was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He is currently assisting police with investigations.
