A fire has forced the evacuation of around 200 people from Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant on the Gold Coast.

The blaze broke out at the rear of the popular restaurant on Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach at around 9.30pm on Tuesday night.

Smoke entered the restaurant setting off the building’s alarms.

Staff helped evacuate patrons outside while they waited for emergency services to arrive.

The fire was extinguished a short time later.

Four people were treated by paramedics for mild smoke inhalation.

“Those four persons were treated at the scene and discharged from the scene with no further follow up required,” Adam Flory from Queensland Ambulance said.

“The staff here did an excellent job in getting everyone to safety and allow the fire service to do their job.”

The rear of the building sustained minor damage but shows will resume as normal on Wednesday.
