Investigations are underway into what sparked a couple of fires at an abandoned timber mill in Maudsland overnight.

Firefighters were first called to the property on Greenway Boulevard around 6pm following reports of a car on fire.

Crews were then called back to the same address around 10pm to find a large shed engulfed in flames.

It took firefighters over two hours to fully extinguish the blaze.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson confirmed fire investigators will return to the scene today to try and piece together what sparked the infernos.
