A rescue operation is currently underway in Main Beach after a crane operator suffered a medical episode.

The man, whose age is not known, is believed to have suffered chest pain while operating the crane at a worksite along Main Beach Parade.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 8.00am on Monday.

It’s understood the man is approximately 60 metres from the ground, with fire crews now working on the best plan of attack to assist with getting him down.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson has confirmed to myGC that he appears to be in a stable condition.
