Gold Coasters are being warned to brace for a possibly severe thunderstorm today.
The Bureau says severe storms are likely in the Scenic Rim and possible across the southeast, including the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast.
Large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall are all possible.
Residents are urged to be on alert for any warnings that may be issued later today.
A strong wind warning has already been issued for Gold Coast Waters.
