Two people from the Gold Coast have been charged over an alleged home invasion west of Brisbane where shots were reportedly fired, forcing a suburb into lockdown.
Police were called to Ipswich Boonah Road in Purga around 4.35pm on Monday after reports three people had forced their way into a property and shots had been fired.
An emergency situation was declared, and an exclusion zone set up.
Officers located a resident who had managed to escape the property uninjured, however, the three people were still inside.
Police negotiators engaged with the group for several hours before all three were eventually arrested around 9.45pm.
A 34-year-old Nerang man, a 29-year-old Willow Vale woman and a 32-year-old man from Kensington Grove were taken into custody.
The Nerang man has been charged with two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and one count each of serious assault officer while armed with a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
The Willow Vale woman has been charged with two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and one count each of serious assault officer while armed with a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
The Kensington Grove man has been charged with two counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and one count each of serious assault officer while armed with a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, authority required to possess explosives, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
All three have been refused bail and will front Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
