Residents in the Robina area are being urged not to be alarmed if they hear the sound of screeching tyres, crashing cars and stand-offs.
A major film production will be on location in the suburb today, which will force the closure of part of Robina Parkway.
The scenes being filmed today involve a high-speed car chase with a car driving over the top of a traffic island into oncoming traffic before a stand-off between the film’s hero and the bad guys.
Fake weapons will also be used.
“The sequence will be carried out in a highly controlled environment by a professional stunt team under strict safety protocols with the Police, security, safety officers and a medic on site,” producers said in a letter to residents.
The filming will see the northbound lanes of Robina Parkway closed from 6am to 6pm between Cheltenham Drive and Boowaggan Rd.
The southbound lanes will also close between 9am and 2.30pm.
Footpaths will also be closed during filming.
“Please expect long delays and if possible, it would be greatly appreciated if you would take another route.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, and are grateful for your support and cooperation.”
Residents living in the affected area will still have access to their homes under the guidance of Police and traffic controllers.
