A man has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition following a nasty crash between a truck and car in Broadbeach Waters.
The vehicle is believed to have slammed into the back of a tow truck along Rio Vista Boulevard just before 6am on Saturday.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, suffered serious head injuries in the smash.
He was treated at the scene by critical care paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains fighting for life.
The driver of the tow truck managed to escape unharmed, with the Forensic Crash Unit now investigating.
It comes just hours after a truck slammed into a barrier on the M1, leaving the driver in a serious condition.
It happened southbound on the Reedy Creek off-ramp at Varsity Lakes around 2.20am.
The man, aged in his 30s, suffered neck injuries and was rushed to the Gold Coast Uni Hospital in a serious condition.
