The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a vehicle plunged 50m down an embankment in the Gold Coast hinterland, killing the driver.
Emergency crews rushed to Springbrook Road around 10.30am on Saturday following reports a grey Mitsubishi Triton had crashed down an embankment and caught fire.
Crews abseiled down to the burning wreckage where the driver, a 61-year-old Mudgeeraba man, was found deceased inside the vehicle.
Investigators are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
