LATEST @ 22 APRIL, 9.00AM | Police are on the hunt for a man at the centre of a dramatic siege on the Gold Coast.
Specialist officers stormed the Nerang property just after 6pm, following lengthy negotiations with the man.
However, in a bizarre twist, the man was nowhere to be found.
Police initially swarmed the Mount Street unit due to reports of a “disturbance” at around 2.30pm on Friday.
The man holed himself up inside the unit, with concerns he may have been armed, which threw the whole street into lockdown.
A QPS spokesperson confirmed this morning that “a man remains outstanding”.
Investigations are continuing.
