UPDATE @ February 10, 6AM | A man wanted over the alleged shooting of another man in Tallebudgera Valley has finally been arrested.
The 57-year-old was found hiding in a structure in bushland in the area around 10.15am on Sunday.
Police made the discovery while conducting further foot searches near where the original shooting occurred.
The man had been on the run since Thursday after allegedly shooting a 59-year-old local man in the head and shoulder with a homemade pipe gun.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
He’s currently assisting police with enquiries.
Investigations are ongoing.
UPDATE @ February 7, 11.15 AM | Police have released an image of a man they are looking for over a shooting in Tallebudgera Valley.
Emergency crews were called to a property on Tallebudgera Creek Road around midday on Thursday after a 59-year-old man was shot in the head and shoulder with a homemade gun.
According to police, the victim was shot after finding the man hiding under his home.
“Initial investigations indicate the victim approached a man after finding him on his property, the man then presented a firearm and shot the victim,” Queensland Police said.
The man then fled the scene, sparking a major search that resulted in police declaring an exclusion zone which warned residents in the area to remain inside their homes.
The emergency declaration has since been lifted, however the gunman remains at large.
Police have described him as caucasian, aged in his 50s, facial hair, untidy hair, appears skinny looking in the face with yellow-coloured teeth.
“At time of offence was wearing work shorts, flannel type shirt, dark coloured slouch hat, tan work boots,” police said.
“Anyone who has seen this man, or who has any information that can assist investigations, is urged to contact police”.
The victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains with with non-life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE @ 6AM, Friday, February 7 | An emergency declaration in Tallebudgera Valley has been revoked after parts of the suburb were locked down following a shooting.
A man suffered wounds to his head and shoulder following the incident at a property on Tallebudgera Creek Rd around midday on Thursday.
The incident sparked a major search, however Police were unable to locate the gunman, who is believed to be known to the victim
The emergency declaration was lifted late on Thursday night.
Officers are continuing to patrol the Tallebudgera Valley and surrounding areas.
Police say there is no current risk to the public but are asking residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Triple-Zero.
UPDATE @ 4pm | Police have declared an emergency situation in Tallebudgera Valley following a shooting this afternoon.
A man was found with injuries to his head and shoulder at a property along Tallebudgera Creek Road around midday.
He has since been taken to the Gold Coast University Hopsital for further treatment but his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
The persons who were involved in the incident are believed to be known to each other.
At 4pm on Thursday, Queensland Police confirmed they had made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in the Tallebudgera Valley area as they continue to investigate.
There us now an exclusion zone in place that is encompassing Tallebudgera Creek Road to the west, Emily Lane to the north, and Petsche Creek Road to the east and Ryans Road to the south.
Residents are asked to stay inside their dwellings, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.

Emergency services rushed to an address along Tallebudgera Creek Road around midday following reports a man had been shot.
When they arrived, they found him with injuries to his head and shoulder.
He has since been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment although his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Queensland Police have confirmed a crime scene has been established and investigations are underway to establish the cause of his injuries.
