A man is fighting for life following a serious jet ski crash in Surfers Paradise overnight.
Emergency services were called to the Nerang River near Peninsular Drive around 9.15pm on Thursday following reports of a nasty water accident.
Upon arrival, they found a jet ski rider suffering serious abdominal and chest injuries.
Initial investigations suggest the 39-year-old Broadbeach Waters man crashed into a Port Lateral Marker in the river.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
Police are investigating and appealing for anyone with information or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
