Police have confirmed a motorbike rider has died following a crash on the northern Gold Coast on Tuesday morning.
A white Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 motorcycle was travelling on Stapylton Jacobs Well Road in Gilberton just before 10am, when it left the road and crashed into a traffic sign.
The 63-year-old male rider from Jacobs Well was declared deceased at the scene.
The road was closed between Loves and Norwell Road for some as investigators combed the scene.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information or relevant vision of the lead up to the crash to come forward as investigations continue.
